Meet Dr. Taylor
Dr. Brandon Taylor comes to the Valley View Hospital radiology department most recently from Radiology Imaging Associates in Washington DC and the VA Medical Center in Houston. He graduated medical school from Saint Louis University, completed his residency at Aurora Saint Luke’s Medical Center and had fellowship training at the acclaimed MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas.
Expert in both general diagnostic radiology, plus specialized mammography, musculoskeletal and interventional radiology, Dr. Taylor also has a passion for teaching and training others in the field, using his exceptional communications skills. “I have a talent for teaching that comes naturally to me,” he says. “I’m pretty good at understanding people’s learning styles, and I love to share what I know.”
As a child growing up in St. Louis, he had an affinity for science. At one time, he wanted to be an astronaut and even had a NASA internship. It turns out that his fondness for biology and chemistry (he graduated summa cum laude as the highest-ranking senior in college chemistry) led him to medicine instead. “Radiology is fun and interesting” says Dr. Taylor. “There are more ups than downs and there are mysteries to be solved every day.”
What does Dr. Taylor do in his off time? You might find him at one of two gyms working out, or, hiking and biking outside. He plans to learn to ski this winter. And he’s a fur baby parent to his beloved Oscar, a Maine Coon cat.
